Remembering Robert MacNeil
We’re sad to learn that journalist Robert MacNeil has passed away at the age of 93. As a reporter for NBC he covered major events including the building of the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy – MacNeil was riding in a bus behind the presidential motorcade in Dallas and may have unwittingly crossed paths with Lee Harvey Oswald. He went on to work at PBS where he created, with Jim Lehrer, the PBS NewsHour (originally the MacNeil/Lehrer Report).
