Remembering Dixon Dern

We are deeply saddened to learn that legendary entertainment lawyer Dixon Dern has passed away at the age of 97. Dern’s illustrious career includes working at CBS, years as the head of the legal department at Desilu Productions, working at United Artists Television, and in private practice representing clients including CAA. Dixon was also the sole legal counsel for the Television Academy and the Television Academy Foundation for over four decades. The Interviews' team had a long history working alongside Dixon, who was always eager to talk about intellectual property and the myriad of ethical issues related to the collection of our oral histories. We are deeply indebted to his counsel and friendship over many years.
